Director Juuso Syrjä explains the process of reforming the legendary opening animation:

"We have been talking with Markus for years about the need to revamp the logo animation. Now, at the premiere of the last Vares, looking at that old 'cheese ball', I decided that something had to be done about it. I got in touch with Markus, who said that this is something that many people have tried to do over the years.

-You try, but we are hard to convince.

I promised to make a proposal that would go through. Then I started thinking about what the new logo animation could be. After all, it's a classic that most Finns have seen over the last 30 years. This gave me the idea that you can't throw a classic away as it is, you have to take elements from it and update them for today. When we got the first versions to show to Solar, Markus wondered if it was already too pompous, until he said, "After thirty years, there's no point in apologizing or holding back."
