The daily routine of The Grump is the same: spring is here and the early potato harvest is ripening. However, The Grump crashes his beloved "Eskort" and the car has to be scrapped. A new, modern vehicle is no match for quality and the nearest Escort, a 1972 model, can be found in Germany. When the sons refuse to help, he must travel to Germany alone.

When he arrives in Hamburg, The Grump needs the help of his brother Tarmo. They haven't seen each other for decades. Tarmo, the complete opposite of The Grump, promises to help his brother find Escort. While searching for the car, the winding road digs up old and new holes between the brothers.

The Grump: In Search of an Escort is a warm-hearted film about the meeting of generations after years.
