CANCEL MOVIE ABOUT SOCIAL MEDIA ERA REACHES 100 000 ADMISSIONS!

For the second week in a row, Cancel is the most watched film in Finland.

Cancel, a social media film that premiered on Wednesday 8 October, has attracted an impressive 100 000 admissions in 10 days. On its opening day, the film became the most watched film of the week. The results confirm that the stars of the social media era are now conquering the big screens, too.

The fast-paced action comedy stars Niko, Santtu and Weksi, who are familiar from YouTube and social media, as well as numerous other social media celebrities and actors such as Elastinen, Ville Tiihonen, Henna Tanskanen, Helmi Kantola, Mandimai, Herbalisti, Jaakko Parkkali, Niilo22, Janne Saarinen, Matti Leino and Iikka Forss. The film is written by Pietari Vihula and directed by Tuukka Temonen.

"I mean, it's ridiculous. Super-big thank you to all of you who have checked out Cancel! Without you this would not be possible. I had tears of happiness when I read people's feedback about the movie. It's beyond comprehension, I feel incredibly grateful," says Henry 'Weksi' Weckström, star of the film.

For the second week in a row, Cancel is the most watched film in Finland. It is also the most popular film of the current autumn holiday week, attracting audiences of all ages to cinemas. In a short time, Cancel has become a phenomenon.

"I am delighted that we have mobilised children, young people and families of all ages thanks to Cancel and succeeded in our plan to create a phenomenon. I am also proud of our main stars. They deserve all this hype. And a big credit for all of this also goes to director Tuukka Temonen", comments producer Hanna Virolainen.

In the film, Santtu is the victim of a phone theft, which leads the trio to race against time to find the phone before its sensitive contents become public and, in the worst case, lead to their "cancellation" and career collapse.

The film is produced by Solar Films' Hanna Virolainen, Markus Selin and Jukka Helle. The film is distributed by Nordisk Film.
