Happier times, Grump
Happier times, Grump is an impossibly funny and heartfelt film about an impossibly serious subject.
The Grump is planning to die because all the work is done and the purpose of life has disappeared. But just as his coffin is about to be completed, a new life comes to him. Granddaughter Sofia, 17, is in trouble and needs her grandfather's stubbornness, wisdom and the warmth of a fireplace. The Grump, on the other hand, finds meaning in life and a great secret. In the life of an old scoundrel and a young city girl, two halves grow into more than one whole.

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT
Happier times, Grump is a film about mending what is thought to be broken across the generation gap. Life surprises the protagonists and forces them to look at themselves and their loved ones with new eyes. We don't always get to choose all the people with whom we make this journey through life, and sometimes we just have to accept ourselves and them, with all their faults. As long as there is love, anything is possible.
