Vares – Tango of darkness

Veikko Hopea returns with a vengeance, but where is Ruuhio? Jussi Vares investigates the murder of tango king Harry Koivikko, whose trail has gone cold. Then Ruuhio disappears and Vares' old enemy Veikko Hopea comes to Turku with a grudge.

Synopsis

Six years ago, tango king Harry Koivikko was found stabbed to death in his room at the Satumaa hostel. However, the nation's biggest manhunt fizzled out without success. An old acquaintance of Jussi Vares, journalist Ruuhio, says he knows who killed Koivikko. Then Ruuhio disappears.

Anna Huttunen, who is seriously involved with Ruuhio, pressures the jealous Vares to search for the missing journalist. Vares is faced with the fiercest challenge of his career. Plus, a dangerous old acquaintance, Veikko Hopea, leaves the brick walls for his first prison vacay...

Jussi Vares conducts confidential investigations for whomever he wants. The tavern often replaces Vares' office. Besides, in his opinion, all rules are for those who have no imagination.
