Happy Sassy Beautiful tells the story of Kaija Koo's journey to become a confident and courageous artist. The film is a powerful story of one of Finland's greatest artists, whose music has comforted and empowered generations. Her pianist husband Markku sees her talent more clearly than anyone else. But success does not come without an internal struggle. The grief of losing her father stops Kaija in her tracks and makes her momentarily give up her dreams. When unexpected giant success propels Kaija to superstardom, she must not only face the shadows of success, but also find her own voice – so she can get to the stage freer than ever. Produced by Solar Films, the film is directed by Selma Vilhunen and stars Oona Airola and Jari Virman.
