Synopsis

Jussi Vares falls in love with the mysterious beauty Sole Sulavesi – only to lose her in a horrific way. After a few weeks of courtship, Sole's body is found in a bird tower in Ruissalo.

The murder investigation grinds to a halt until Vares mistakenly takes it upon himself to investigate the background of the confusing denunciation letters received by journalist Ruuhio. Before the mystery of the letters is solved, one thing happens and another. Assassin Stahanov receives a strange assignment from the Turku area. And Sole's brother surprises his wife in an intimate situation with the wrong man and embarks on a desperate odyssey with a black cat in his bag.

The trail leads to strangely familiar faces, and new deaths can't be avoided. Eventually, however, the threads of the story are knotted together, and the noose tightens around the blow of all time.
