Says the producer Markus Selin, content: “The Grump is a peek to the Finnish soul at its best. The Grump, played by Heikki Kinnunen, is a character we all can find in our own heart or in our friends – in whole or in smaller parts.”

Happier times, Grump is directed by Tiina Lymi and the title role is played by Heikki Kinnunen. His granddaughter is played by Satu Tuuli Karhu and the stellar supporting cast includes Jani Volanen, Elina Knihtilä, Sulevi Peltola, Iikka Forss, Mari Perankoski and Janne Reinikainen.

SYNOPSIS
The Grump wants to die; his work is done, the meaning of life is gone. But just when he is finishing his own coffin, new life comes to the Grump. His granddaughter Sofia, 17, is in trouble and needs her grandfather’s stubbornness, wisdom – and the warmth of his fireplace. The Grump learns a great secret and finds new joy to his life. The mutual adventures of a young city girl and an old fossil show us how two halves put together can make more than one.
