Mari Perankoski will return to her role as the daughter-in-law and Iikka Forss to his role as the son in the sequel Happier Times, Grump
Heikki Kinnunen will take over the title role, the director is Tiina Lymi.
Solar Films will produce the movie Happier Times, Grump, starring Heikki Kinnunen in the title role. In the first movie The Grump the actors Mari Perankoski and Iikka Forss were fantastic in their parts and they will be seen again in the roles of the daughter-in-law and the son.
The film will be directed by Tiina Lymi, who’s recent successes include the direction of the feature films Upswing and Lapland Odyssey III and the screenplay of the critically acclaimed TV series Morbid Stories. The other cast will be published later.
Tiina Lymi has written the screenplay together with Tuomas Kyrö and Juha Lehtola. The movie will be produced by Markus Selin and Jukka Helle, the producers of the first Grump, which is the third most watched movie in Finland since 1991. It drew a massive audience of 500 926 spectators to the theaters.
Happier times, Grump will start its principal photography in the fall of 2017 and it will premiere in the fall of 2018. The movie will be distributed by Nordisk Film.
