JUSSI NOMINATIONS 2018 PUBLISHED: LAND OF HOPE AND HAPPIER TIMES, GRUMP INCLUDED

The jury has met and the nominees are…

The Finnish cinema has another fantastic year behind it. The number of movie spectators for domestic films in theatrical release was over 1,9 million. The share of domestic releases in Finland is one of the highest in all Europe; almost every fourth ticket was bought to a domestic movie.

Finnish films were featured in a variety of international festivals, including Berlin, Cannes, IDFA, Sundance, Toronto and Warsaw.

The nominees for the Finnish Film Awards (aka the Jussi Awards) were chosen last night at the meeting of the jury of experts of Filmiaura. 13 feature films and 3 short films were nominated in different categories. This year the best movie of the year award is given both to the director and the producer.

The productions of Solar Films have 7 nominations altogether.
