HAPPIER TIMES, GRUMP TO THE BEIJING INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
Land of Hope also enjoys festival success.
Happier Times, Grump – produced by Solar Films – will be screened at the Beijing International Film Festival. The multiple screenings and press conferences take place between Wednesday 17.4. and Friday 19.4. The Closing Night Gala will be held on Saturday 20.4. The festival will be attended by producer Jukka Helle, director Tiina Lymi, actress and recent Finnish Film Award winner Satu Tuuli Karhu, actress Mari Perankoski and production designer Sattva-Hanna Toiviainen.
The movie competes for the Tiantan-award. More information about the festival:

Happier Times, Grump has also been screened at several other international film festivals. Last week it was shown at the Finnish Cinema Week at Petrozavodsk, in St. Petersburg and in Leuuwarden, Holland, at The Nothern Film Festival. Earlier this year it was screened at the Gothenburg Film Festival, the Finnish Cinema Week in Budapest and Cinequest Festival in California. This weekend The Grump can be seen in Lecce, Italy, at the Festival del Cinema Mondo and in May in Bonn, at the Scandinavian Film Days (Skandinavische Filmtage Bonn).

Happier Times Grump, has reached an audience of 348 739 spectators in domestic theatrical distribution.
The title role is played by Heikki Kinnunen and his niece by Satu Tuuli Karhu, a recent Finnish Film Award winner as the best supporting actress. The supporting roles are played by Jani Volanen, Elina Knihtilä, Sulevi Peltola, Iikka Forss, Mari Perankoski and Janne Reinikainen, among others.
Also Land of Hope, another Solar Films production, has enjoyed a wide festival distribution and success. The movie was screened at the prestigious Santa Barbara International Film Festival in February. The lead actors Konsta Laakso and Oona Airola attended the ceremony; Airola was recently awarded the Finnish Film Award as the best actress in a leading role. The movie was also screened at the Nordic Lights Festival in Seattle, Washington, in March and in Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in November. Director Markku Pölönen and producer Rimbo Salomaa are also attending the St. Paul International Film Festival in June.
